Friday Five (November 29th)

Friday Five (November 29th)

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Friday November 29th, 2019

Hot Diggity Dog it feels good to be back in the saddle.

Taking a couple months off has proven to be a great time to recharge the batteries, revamp the vision, and CONSUME MORE CONTENT.  It has been hard to not just jump right back in and start writing again, but I wanted to let my proverbial "pot" get a nice rolling boil before adding the the Friday 5 back into my weekly rituals.

I will say, I have literally started a journal that I now keep just to write down Friday 5 content on the daily.  Both things that I have consumed, and also things I hear about that I want to consume.

Consume in this case = Watch, Read, Eat, Listen, Cook, Sniff, Stare, and any other way you can think to experience the various things that are out there to experience.

So here we go folks. Remember, these are just MY OPINIONS.  Don't believe a word I write...

YouTube
Bernie Sanders on the Joe Rogan Experience.

What got me here was the platform.  This was directly after a democratic debate where it became so frustrating to try and get a real good picture of what any of the candidates had to say.  The debates to me have almost become an actual Saturday Night Live skit.

I am not pushing Bernie Sanders or his agenda...just pushing the idea that we should have a way to listen to each candidate on a platform that allows them to clearly articulate what they actually want to do and how they would get it done.
Show
Bless This Mess on ABC

It's no secret that I have a crush on Dax Shepard...but he doesn't even make this show what it is.  His wife on the show is played by Lake Bell (not related to his real life wife Kristen Bell), and she is so friggin funny I can't watch it with my wife because she laughs so loud I can't hear the next line.

Classic tale of 2 people from NYC that sell everything and move to a farm in Nebraska, that an estranged member of the family left them.  Predictably it is a money pit, the people in town are reluctant to accept them, and life on the farm is not the Green Acres fairy tale they had hoped for.

PODCAST
The Office Ladies

Here we have Angela Kinsey (who played Angela in accounting), and Jenna Fischer (who played Pam), talking with each other in real life about each episode of the office starting with the Pilot.

They come out each Wednesday and I have made a habit of listening to it right when it comes out and then re-watching that episode later that evening to see all of the little "kinsey tid-bits" that get dropped.

Movies
The Peanut Butter Falcon

I am a big fan of Shia LaBeouf and this sent me down the rabbit hole on his life and projects along the way.  My wife and I watched it together recently after the kids were in bed and decided we at least want our 14 year old daughter to see it.
Website
Meh.com

This is just a 1 Deal a Day website.  The products are as advertised...MEH.

The writing on it is genius and the whole platform is rather brilliant.  The way they break down how many people have visited, how many people have bought the item, but more import the amount of people that have clicked "MEH".

Many times this is my first read of the day to set me on a creative course of not taking myself too seriously.

Over the last 2 years I have bought socks, toys, a robot vacuum, lots of chargers and headphones, and even a 2 for 1 on TV's!
